Ode to my Homeland

A set of resin jewellery preserving spices and herbs grown in the Nafusa Mountains. Using chilli flakes, rosemary and thyme brought over to me from the mountains I preserve a piece of the land which can be carried and worn with me. This bridges the distance between homes and homelands that many people in diasporas feel. The poem, written by me, expresses how I feel towards the mountains in a time when I’m unable to visit it now or in the foreseeable future.
